Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a friendly Patient Registration Clerk to greet patients and collect vital demographic, billing and insurance information at St. Vincent's Medical Center network-wide locations.

In this clerical role, you will welcome visitors, explain forms, secure signatures, collect co-pays and maintain PHI privacy, while delivering superior service and accurate data entry. One year related experience and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• One year related experience.
• Basic clerical, computer and keyboarding skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, responds to questions and directs them to appropriate location.
• Collects and enters all necessary demographic, clinical, billing and insurance information from patients or responsible parties.
• Explains processes and forms to patients prior to securing signatures and ensures that all documents are properly signed and witnessed as required.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles and processes admission paperwork.
