Job Description: Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

About

Purpose and Scope: The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level position within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Delegation of tasks to care staff such as RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Technicians may be involved. As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) team, the nurse participates in decision-making, education, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties in accordance with Fresenius policies, standards, and regulations.
• Under supervision, perform patient assessments, data collection, and documentation, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding their care and treatment options.
• Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy, including medication administration and emergency response.
• Assist in staff training and orientation, ensuring proper laboratory procedures.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update care plans and ensure patient understanding of treatment modalities.

Additional Requirements:

• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The role involves heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and potential exposure to infectious materials. Work environment is a healthcare setting with typical facility conditions. Travel may be required.

Supervision: Oversight of staff as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge after meeting training and experience requirements.

Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, current state licensure, and CPR/BLS certification.
