Purpose and Scope: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level position within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This role involves providing and coordinating competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. It may include delegating tasks to direct care staff such as RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) team, the nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: All duties are performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, standards, and regulations, including:
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The role involves physical activities such as lifting, moving patients, standing for long periods, and working in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious materials. Travel may be required.
Supervision: Oversight of team members occurs after meeting specific experience and training requirements.
Education and Licensure: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold a current state license, CPR/BLS certification, and meet state practice requirements.
Experience and Skills: Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; dialysis experience preferred.
