Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 2–5 years healthcare experience in lieu of education.
• Six months+ progressive work experience.

• Familiarity with computer hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Financially clear outpatient referrals as ordered by the referring provider.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Coordinate authorizations when necessary.
• Contact patients to discuss coverage and payment requirements.
• Input authorization and financial notes to assist billing.
• Maintain payer statistics and monitor denials.
• Process referrals within three business days; initiate authorization within three days.
• Provide guidance to staff and support inter-departmental communication.
