Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a physical therapist. You will assist with treatments, monitor progress, document plans, and educate patients and caregivers to reinforce exercises.

Your role includes coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, participating in care planning, and maintaining EMR documentation. The position requires an AA degree in PT Assistant and Maryland licensure.

Qualifications

• AA degree from an accredited PT Assistant program.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients under supervision of a physical therapist.
• Document treatment plans and progress; support data collection for billing and quality programs.
• Provide patient education and ensure safe and appropriate use of assistive devices.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and participate in discharge planning as needed.
• Support PT/ PTA mentor with unit issues and process improvements.
