Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a patient care assistant to support physical therapy services under direct supervision. The role includes preparing patients and equipment, observing during treatments, and reporting condition changes to therapists.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, BLS CPR certification, and flexibility to train in EMR. Candidates with at least 3 months of healthcare experience are preferred and will participate in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 months healthcare experience preferred.
• Current BLS CPR certification is required.
• Willingness to train in EMR within access granted.

Responsibilities

• Assist under direct supervision with gait, ambulation and transfers.
• Support functional activities and routine exercise follow-ups.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for patient care sessions.
• Perform patient vitals and monitor changes during treatment.
• Provide administrative support and handle office duties as needed.
• Maintain departmental inventories and assist with supplies and equipment.
