Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with physical impairments to maximize function. You will design individualized treatment plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate across care teams.

Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations, applying skilled interventions, documenting progress, and supervising PTAs and students. A commitment to quality and safety, with state licenses in PA/NJ, is required.

Qualifications

• Doctoral, masters, or Bachelors in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Current Physical Therapist license in PA or NJ (based on work location).
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive initial evaluations and develops treatment plans to improve movement, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.
• Provides skilled interventions tailored to patient needs using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Collaborates with patients to set short and long-term goals.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and other health care providers, ensuring confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
• Manages patients to improve movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability, including referrals when needed.
• Establishes and updates diagnosis, prognosis, and care plan based on evidence and clinical reasoning.
• Maintains thorough documentation in the patient’s medical record including evaluation findings and treatment responses.
• Educates patients and families about prognosis and care options.
• Supports department programs and participates in quality improvement and continuing education.
• Monitors patient progress and outcomes, and shares knowledge to improve care.
• Supervises PTAs and students as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to safety policies and regulations.
