Job summary

Intermountain Health is launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Pharmacy Technician role supports pharmacists, builds workflows, and enhances patient care experiences in a growing program.

You will work 10-hour retail-style shifts, coordinating medication access and ensuring accurate dispensing, under supervision, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Disciplinary action may result from lapses in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records.
• Prepares medication orders for dispensing and performs calculations; compounds medications as required by site protocols.
• Ensures supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist; understands when verification is required.
• Maintains medication supplies and monitors controlled substances inventory for security and cost effectiveness.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
