Job summary

Intermountain Health's St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO is launching a new outpatient pharmacy.

As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will support daily operations, help establish workflows, coordinate medication access, and assist patients throughout their care journey. You will team with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions, ensure safety and accuracy, and contribute to a high-quality patient experience in a retail-like setting that emphasizes care beyond

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records as required by regulation and policy.
• Utilizes pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations, and compounds medications as appropriate to the site with supervision.
• Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s) and understands when verification is required.
• Maintains medication supplies including controlled substances inventories and 340B/charging management as required to practice site.
• Communicates with caregivers about responsibilities and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, escalating urgent items to the pharmacist as needed.
