Job summary
Intermountain Health is launching an outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will support daily operations, help establish workflows, and assist patients throughout the prescription process in collaboration with pharmacists and technicians. This role emphasizes patient care in a retail-like setting with stronger clinical connections.
Qualifications
- High School or equivalent is required.
- Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
- Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records.
- Prepares medication orders for dispensing and compounds medications as appropriate to practice site.
- Follows supervision and verification requirements from pharmacists.
- Maintains accurate medication supplies and manages inventories.
- Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
