WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking an Operations Pharmacy Technician I to support distribution workflows under pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include preparing unit-dose medications, delivering meds, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided (MD, OH, PA, WV).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare unit-dose medications, deliver medications, and order/deliver drug supplies.
• Read physician orders/prescriptions and prepare medications for dispensing, including pediatric/geriatric forms.
• Understand standard pharmaceutical terms, abbreviations, and symbols used in prescribing/dispensing.
• Communicate with patients or caregivers to determine medication, possession, and delivery timing.
• Accurately prepare/deliver controlled substances and maintain records.
• Take inventory and replace outdated/depleted medications; manage inventory.
• Prepare non-parenteral medications, including oral solutions for pediatric patients.
• Label parenteral/Prescription products correctly.
• Perform dosage calculations for medication preparations.
• Follow departmental standards for speed and accuracy.
• Prepare/label prepackaged medications and maintain related records.
• Maintain inventory in assigned pharmacy areas.
• Answer telephone and route calls appropriately.
• Keep pharmacy service and storage areas clean and orderly.
• Some duties are restricted to Pharmacists by state/federal regulations.
