Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV seeks an Operations Pharmacy Technician I to assist in drug distribution under pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include unit-dose prep, delivery, and inventory management.

Requirements include a high school diploma, and current state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician. Minimum six months of technician experience preferred; remote work requires home-state licensure as well.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must hold state-appropriate Pharmacy Technician license or trainee license.
• Remote workers must hold license in home state if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare unit-dose medications and deliver medications.
• Read prescriptions and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Understand pharmaceutical terms and abbreviations used in dispensing.
• Communicate with patients or caregivers about medication and delivery.
• Prepare and label parenteral and prescription products.
• Maintain inventory and update records for medications.
• Assist with non-parenteral medication preparation for pediatric patients.
• Perform dosage calculations for medications.
• Prepackage and label medications and maintain related records.
• Keep pharmacy areas clean and organized.
• Only duties allowed for technicians by state/federal regulations are performed.
