Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Alabama is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 track. You will contribute to assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients in the dialysis setting.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and patient care techs, educate patients and families, administer medications, respond to emergencies, and support CAP requirements to advance within the Clinical Advancement Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Current or successful CPR/BLS certification.
• Must meet state practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs data collection and analysis of patient data during dialysis and updates the nursing plan.
• Provides education to patients and families regarding learning needs.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy and coordinates with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents rationale/effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Participates in staff training and orientation of new staff.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection, processing, and documentation.
• Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team to update assessment and plan of care.
• Educates patients about transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
