Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health information management or equivalent.

• Education may be substituted with years of coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Abstract clinical information and assign ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Educate staff on documentation practices and DRG assignments.
• Resolve coding denials and follow up on DNFB reports.
• Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
