Job summary

Boone Memorial Health, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Coder (HIM Coder) to join our Health Information Management team.

You will ensure accurate coding, regulatory compliance, and timely reimbursement for outpatient services, while maintaining high data integrity and productivity. The role requires CCS and CPC credentials and at least two years of outpatient coding experience, with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and coding audits.

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• Minimum of two years of outpatient coding experience using ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Experience with coding audits, denial management, and reimbursement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes accurately.
• Abstract patient information into electronic medical record systems with data accuracy.
• Apply coding guidelines and regulatory requirements to support reimbursement.
• Resolve claim edits and assist with denial management.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to improve documentation quality.
