Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a healthcare coder specialized in outpatient coding to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and procedures for emergency, radiology, and clinic settings. You will review records, query physicians when needed, and ensure compliant, accurate billing.

Qualified candidates have an RHIT or RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC certification and 3 years in hospital or ambulatory coding, including ED and interventional radiology.assoc degree preferred, strong adherence to AHIMA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC certification required.
• 3 years hospital/ambulatory coding in Surgery/Observation.
• 2 years Emergency Department coding; 2 years Interventional Radiology coding.
• 1 year Ancillary/Recurring coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code primary diagnoses and procedures for outpatient records using ICD-10-CM.
• Ensure accurate coding for outpatient facilities and services.
• Query physicians when documentation is unclear for coding.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
• Adhere to AHIMA standards and official coding guidelines.
