Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing is required, BSN preferred.
• Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas (RN).
• ACLS or PALS certification within 3 months of hire (department-dependent).
• Willingness to be cross-trained to other areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care using sound judgment.
• Implements physician orders safely and accurately.
• Assists with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
• Maintains detailed records of nursing actions and patient care plans.
• Provides health/therapeutic counseling and education to patients and families.
• Triages patient complaints related to therapy and reports to physician when needed.
• Ensures policies and procedures guide nursing care and patient safety.

Education

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

BSN preferred

Current Texas RN license

ACLS or PALS within 3 months
