Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse’s license in the State of Texas
• ACLS required within three (3) months of hire.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
• Prefer hospital experience

• Ensures care is delivered per Texas Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Supports DHR and department goals and objectives.
• Provides effective and efficient patient care management.
• Demonstrates managerial techniques within lines of authority.

• Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room.
• Ensures Medical Unit procedures meet requirements of scheduled procedures.
• Adheres to hospital/unit policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
• Responds promptly to patient and physician needs.
• Demonstrates ability to work with varied age-specific populations.
• Supports customer relations, infection control, safety and risk management programs.
• Demonstrates accountability for job performance.
