Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Rockville site seeks a Patient Service Specialist to greet patients, schedule appointments and tests, verify demographics and insurance, and manage pre-registration tasks in a busy outpatient imaging setting. You will collaborate with physicians and staff, collect payments, provide instructions, and support daily scheduling and billing activities to ensure smooth patient encounters.

Strong customer service, 30 wpm typing, and IDX scheduling familiarity are preferred for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 2 years college preferred.
• 3+ years in customer service, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience scheduling patients and using scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them for appointments, tests, and referrals.
• Schedule appointments and tests using the scheduling system; prepare notices and referrals.
• Verify demographic, insurance, and payment information; pre-register patients.
• Counsel patients on balances and anticipated costs; collect payments.
• Support daily scheduling, cash handling, and document printing.
