Job summary

DHR Health seeks a qualified Medical Coder to review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign accurate ICD-10-CM codes for outpatient encounters. You will ensure alignment with CPT and APC guidelines, attach accurate HCPCS modifiers, and resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and experience with coding software (3M encoder preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience in medical coding and understanding of ICD-10-CM/CPT/APC guidelines.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ethics in health information management.
• Computer/coding software experience; familiarity with 3M encoder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient procedures according to ICD-10-CM, CPT and APC guidelines.
• Attach HCPCS Level I and II modifiers for billing purposes.
• Review provider documentation to determine principal diagnosis and comorbidities.
• Meet productivity standards (120–150 accounts coded daily) and 95% accuracy.
• Research 3M Coding references and keep up with Coding Clinic updates.
