Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Lithonia, GA invites applications for the Outpatient RN CAP 1, an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program. You will coordinate care, perform assessments, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes for a defined patient group, under supervision.

As part of the CAP, you will receive education, participate in team rounds and advance through required CAP steps while providing safe hemodialysis therapy and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Assesses, collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis, documents in the medical record, and notifies appropriate personnel as needed.
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, and documents effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
