Job summary

Akron Children's in Ohio seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse with RN licensure and NP certification to provide primary and specialty care in collaboration with a physician, under standard care arrangements.

You will perform health assessments, order tests, develop diagnoses and treatment plans, and participate in medical team rounds to ensure high-quality patient care. This is a full-time onsite role requiring credentialing and prescriptive authority per Ohio regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licensed RN in Ohio with national APN certification.
• Certificate to prescribe (or eligible) per OH Board of Nursing.
• ACLS or PALS may be required depending on practice setting.
• Active medical staff credentialing and privileges.
• Current BLS training.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions.
• Operates in collaboration with physicians under standard care arrangements.
• Performs health assessments and physical exams, orders and interprets tests.
• Develops diagnoses and treatment plans with patient and family.
• May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority.
• Participates in rounds and discharge planning; acts as clinical resource for staff.
• Ensures quality patient care and compliance with hospital bylaws and ORC requirements.
