Job summary

Akron General's Department of Hematology & Oncology seeks an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult or Acute Certified) for a full-time outpatient role. You will see new consults, established and acute visits, and provide infusion suite coverage in Hematology and Oncology.

Approximate hours are M-F, 8-5. Oncology APP experience is preferred; strong internal medicine or RN backgrounds may be considered.

Qualifications

• Advanced Oncology certification expected within 2 years or eligibility.
• MSN required for APRN; APRN license in applicable state.
• PA or NP licensure, NCCPA certification and prescribing authority.

Responsibilities

• Take histories and perform exams; order labs/imaging as needed.
• Collaborate with care team; conduct rounds and coordinate care.
• Prescribe/monitor medications per state policy and hospital rules.
• Educate patients on disease, treatment and side effects.
• Facilitate referrals and discharge planning; monitor quality outcomes.
• Support professional development and evidence-based practice.
