Job summary

The Akron General Hematology & Oncology department is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Family, Adult, or Acute Care certified) for a full-time role covering outpatient Hematology and Oncology patients. You will assess new consultations, established visits, and infusion suite coverage, with typical hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Oncology APP experience is preferred; RN/APPs with strong internal medicine may be considered.

Qualifications

MSN/APRN degree required for APRN track.
PA track requires Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies.
CNS requires Clinical Nurse Specialist credential or degree.

Responsibilities

Take medical histories and perform exams; initiate labs and tests to form diagnosis and treatment plans.
Collaborate with the health care team and coordinate care; perform procedures as credentialed.
Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license and policy.
Educate patients about disease, treatments, and potential side effects.
Participate in rounds; ensure continuity of care and referral when needed.
Assist with discharge planning and regulatory compliance for inpatient management.
Support professional development and apply evidence-based practices.
May conduct research and serve as a clinical preceptor for students.
