Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hematology Oncology department seeks Advanced Practice Providers (APRN, PAs, CNS) to join the inpatient team. You will evaluate new consults and follow ups for hematology-oncology, on a day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with holidays rotated among team members.

Providers must be nationally certified, collaborate with the health care team, and contribute to education and program development while ensuring high-quality patient care in the inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner and RN license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical exams; order tests as needed and develop a treatment plan.
• Perform and interpret routine diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe and monitor medications per licensure and policies.
• Educate patients about disease, treatments and side effects.
• Participate in rounds and collaborate with the care team.
• Coordinate referrals and discharge planning as needed.
