Job summary

Ensource RCM is seeking an Outpatient Facility Ambulatory/Day Surgery Coding Specialist to remotely review hospital records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for ambulatory surgery patients. You will work with diverse surgical specialties and uphold coding guidelines to ensure correct reimbursement.

Required credentials include CCS, RHIA, RHIT or CPC, with 2+ years of facility coding experience; Epic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Review hospital records for ambulatory surgery patients and assign diagnoses and procedures per ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines.
• Maintain up-to-date coding certifications through AHIMA or AAPC and complete continuing education.
• Communicate with outpatient coders and managers to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality and productive coding services for clients.
• Apply specialty knowledge across multiple surgical areas as described.
• Remain compliant with official coding guidelines and internal quality standards.

Extensive knowledge of disease pathology as well as interpretation/understanding of detailed procedure note documentation is required for this position.
