Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Illinois is seeking an entry-level professional registered nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for an assigned patient group involving coordination with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and patient care technicians.

The role includes teaching, leadership functions, and participation in quality improvement within the End Stage Kidney Disease team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state nursing licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Entry-level RN with less than 2 years in nephrology nursing.
• 9 months RN experience; 3 months dialysis experience (Chronic/acute).

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for a group of patients during hemodialysis.
• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after treatment and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and treatment options.
• Direct and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safe, effective hemodialysis delivery.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document effectiveness.
• Participate in emergency responses and quality improvement activities.
