Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a professional registered nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 2 track within the Clinical Advancement Program. The role focuses on clinically competent care, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned patient group in a dialysis setting.

Responsibilities include data collection during hemodialysis, education for patients and families, safe delivery of therapy, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with 2 years Nephrology nursing experience
• Willingness to participate in CAP
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing duties under supervision and with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or other RNs
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and documents in medical records
• Educates patient and family about care
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the health care team
• Administers prescribed medications and documents justification and effectiveness
• Participates in emergency responses
• Mentors and leads new staff
• Ensures proper lab collection and processing
• Updates nursing assessment and care plans with interdisciplinary team
• Provides transplant/treatment modality education
• Contributes to quality improvement projects
• May serve as Preceptor to new employees
