Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program in the United States. The RN provides and coordinates clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned patient group, with possible delegation to direct care staff.

As part of the ESKD care team, the RN participates in teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• Must meet state practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; adjusts treatment plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families about care.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis with staff collaboration.
• Administers medications per protocol and documents justification.
• Initiates or assists with emergency responses.
• Acts as a resource and supports staff training.
• Ensures proper lab collection and processing.
• Documents nursing assessments and care plans with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Communicates transplant and modality options to patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
