Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Montgomery, AL seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse (CAP 1) to join the Clinical Advancement Program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care during hemodialysis, assess patients, plan care, and collaborate with the care team to improve outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification, with supervision provided by a Clinical Educator and Team Leader. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with less than 2 years in nephrology nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and state licensure required.
• CPR/BLS certification maintained as a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator/Preceptor or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and updates the medical record.
• Educates patients and families on learning needs and treatment plans.
• Delivers safe hemodialysis care in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Participates in staff training and orientation of new staff.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and shipping procedures and reschedules missed collections.
