Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for a defined patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation during hemodialysis, with education for patients and families.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, administering medications, guiding daily care, and supporting emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR/BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from educators or other RNs.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during pre-, during-, post-hemodialysis and documents in medical records.
• Assesses and educates patient/family on learning needs and treatment options.
• Delivers safe, effective hemodialysis care in collaboration with care staff and physicians.
• Administers prescribed medications and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and assists with staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and communication of results.
• Updates nursing assessment and plan of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Complies with transplant/treatment modality option discussions.
