Job summary

Fresenius Kidney Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 role. The nurse will coordinate and provide comprehensive care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation within the Clinical Advancement Program.

The role involves teaching patients and families, collaborating with RNs, LVN/LPNs and technicians, administering medications, and contributing to quality improvement activities in a dialysis setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and adjust the treatment plan as indicated.
• Educate patients and families about learning needs and care plans.
• Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the care team.
• Administer medications as prescribed or via approved algorithms.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing and documentation.
• Document outcomes and update the plan of care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Discuss transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance within the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
