Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Claxton, GA is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, participate in education and quality improvement, and ensure compliance with policy and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
• State licensure and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under supervision with guidance from the Clinical Educator or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs for education.
• Directs daily delivery of safe hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Participates in staff training and orientation as assigned.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and shipping and reschedules missed labs.
• Keeps nursing assessment and care plan updated in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provides information on transplant and treatment modality options.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Current appropriate state licensure.

Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
