Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Ottumwa, IA is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The RN CAP 1 will coordinate and deliver hemodialysis care, assess patients and educate families.

Responsibilities include data collection, treatment plan updates, and collaboration with the health care team. Requires nursing degree, valid state license, CPR/BLS, and nephrology experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR/BLS Certification.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Analyzes patient data pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Delivers safe hemodialysis therapy and educates patient/family as needed.
• Administers medications as prescribed or by approved algorithms.
• Participates in staff training and quality improvement activities.
