Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Clinic RN position seeks an experienced registered nurse for outpatient care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a day shift clinic setting, coordinating with physicians and staff to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

Expect a full-time schedule, M-F 7a-4:30p, with a strong emphasis on patient education, documentation in the EMR, and compassionate, team-based care within MercyOne’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa; compact licensure acceptable where applicable.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient settings using nursing process.
• Coordinate care with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and discharge plans.
• Communicate with care teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accordingly.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation of assessments and plans.
