Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa required.
• BLS certification must be current or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Compact state license acceptable where applicable.
• Proficient computer skills and EMR documentation.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assesses, intervenes, and provides direct patient care using nursing processes.
• Administers medications and treatments via multiple routes and documents accordingly.
• Performs nursing care, labs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and limited radiology procedures.
• Assists providers with patient care, scheduling, and admissions.
• Communicates with physicians, staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Educates patients and families on treatments and health maintenance; documents education.
• Maintains accurate EMR documentation and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains supplies and reports malfunctions; adheres to policies and safety protocols.
