Job summary

Kern Medical Surgery Center, LLC is seeking an On-site Outpatient Consult Representative for our Ambulatory Clinics in Bakersfield, CA. This role handles patient registrations, scheduling, and insurance prior authorizations to support timely care.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of outpatient clinic experience, strong communication, and payer knowledge (Medicare/Medi-Cal). Bilingual preferred; on-site training provided.

Qualifications

• One year of outpatient clinic or medical office scheduling/authorization experience.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, CCS, TRICARE/CHAMPUS, and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Submit required documentation to insurance for prior authorization.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient registrations.
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate departments.
• Enter patient demographics and verify insurance information.
• Assist with training of staff and resolve scheduling/authorization issues.
