Job summary

Kern Medical, located in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking a Patient Access Services Supervisor for Outpatient Registration. This on-site leadership role coordinates patient registration and scheduling, supervises staff, and collaborates with revenue cycle teams to ensure efficient access and accurate financial counseling.

The ideal candidate has strong supervisory and customer-service skills, knowledge of insurance funding, and is bilingual in English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in patient access or financial counseling.
• OR an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff in Patient Access areas to include prioritizing and assigning work, ensuring staff is trained, conducting performance evaluations, and making hiring, disciplinary, and termination recommendations.
• Provides team leadership and participates in developing new techniques and applying new knowledge to achieve improvements in individual, departmental, and organizational effectiveness and quality.
• Reviews and evaluates QA data; implements improvement at the unit level to minimize errors; evaluates KPI data; identifies opportunities to increase efficiency and implements performance improvement projects.
• Develops and implements operational policies and procedures.
• Responds to requests for information and inquiries related to patient access processes, policies, and/or other related information; researches and resolves customer problems.
• Reviews, processes, and oversees a variety of reports, receivables, deposits, forms, applications, statements, and other related documents.
