Job summary

Carson Valley Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for Outpatient Behavioral Health on a Per Diem basis. The role involves providing patient-centered care from infant to geriatric, managing clinical flow, and supporting clinicians with vital signs and data collection.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Medical Assistant certification (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA or state-recognized) or obtain within 90 days.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Strong reading, writing, spelling, organizing and filing skills.
• Patient-centered care and computer/word processing proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians by collecting vital signs and data.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vitals.
• Obtain medical history including medications and allergies.
• Assist with minor procedures and instrument sterilization.
• Prepare examination rooms and educate patients and families.
• Schedule tests, obtain results and ensure records are up-to-date.
