Job summary

CVH Senior Care in Carson Valley NV seeks a Medical Assistant on a per diem basis to support patient-centered care for a diverse list of patients across age groups.

You will assist clinicians, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, manage test scheduling, document in the EMR, and coordinate with pharmacy for refills. Per diem status offers an as-needed schedule with a 15% hourly premium to reflect the flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA or equivalent (or obtain within 90 days).
• Current BLS Certification.
• Office Laboratory Assistant license (or obtain within 90 days).
• Reading, writing, excellent spelling; organized filing; patient-centered care.
• Customer service skills and basic computer/word processing skills.
• Bi-Lingual preferred; clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with collecting vital signs and pertinent data.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and take vitals.
• Obtain medical history including allergies and medications.
• Assist with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Sterilize instruments and set up exam rooms.
• Schedule testing procedures and ensure lab results are filed in the chart.
• Document patient care accurately in EMR.
• Authorize and fax refills to pharmacies per provider instruction.
