Job summary

Carson Valley Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for outpatient behavioral health on a per diem basis in Nevada. The role supports clinicians, assists with vital signs, tests, and patient prep while maintaining patient-centered care.

The position features flexible per diem scheduling, no guaranteed hours, and an emphasis on efficient, accurate documentation in EMR and the patient chart.

Qualifications

• Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant by an agency recognized by the state medical board (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA) or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians/providers by collecting patient vital signs and pertinent data.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist in assessing medical problems.
• Obtain medical history including age, DOB, chief complaint, medications and allergies.
• Assist with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Sterilize and set up instruments; prepare examination rooms and instruments.
• Explain treatments to patients and families; educate as needed.
• Schedule testing procedures and ensure test results/lab reports are in the medical record.
