Job summary

Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking an Outdoor Pursuits Guide to join our Outdoor Pursuits Department on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. You will guide members and guests through skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and cat/UTV tours while prioritizing safety and fun.

You will deliver instructional and recreational programming across skill levels and lead backcountry trips for qualified guides, sharing local knowledge and providing exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in outdoor recreation leadership and 4+ seasons teaching skiing or snowboarding.
• Professional snow sports instruction or coaching certifications (PSIA-AASI, USSA, USASA, or equivalent).
• Recreation Avalanche Qualifications (AIARE L1, L2, Rescue Course).
• 5+ years in outdoor recreation leadership and professional guiding (Backcountry Guide).
• Advanced skiing and snowboarding in off-piste and avalanche terrain.
• Professional guiding certification (PSIA-AASI, USSA, USASA, AMGA, IFMGA, or equivalent).
• Professional Avalanche Qualifications (A3/AIARE Pro 1-2 or equivalent).
• AED, First Aid, and CPR certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Guiding members and guests through skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and cat/UTV tours with safety and enjoyment in all conditions.
• Deliver instructional and recreational programming for participants of all skill levels.
• Lead off-piste and backcountry trips through avalanche terrain.
• Build rapport with members and guests and share local mountain knowledge.
• Assess risk and make real-time safety decisions for all activities.
• Demonstrate safe practices and train others.
• Maintain AED, First Aid, and CPR certifications; backcountry requires avalanche qualifications.
• Safely transport members and guests via company vehicles and equipment.
