Job summary

Cameron County seeks a Custodian Maintenance Worker to perform building and grounds maintenance in outdoor park settings. The role involves handling hazardous chemicals, manual labor, and frequent interaction with park guests.

Valid Texas driver’s license required; English/Spanish bilingual communication encouraged. Under supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, duties include cleaning restrooms, trash removal, sidewalk and pavilion maintenance, and general housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in custodianship and working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Performs building and grounds maintenance including trash removal and litter pickup in parking lots and pavilions.
• Performs daily cleaning of park restrooms.
• Sweeps and washes sidewalks and parking areas and removes sand from pavilion areas.
• Ensures restrooms are stocked with cleansers and toiletries.
• Performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning windows and sweeping and mopping floors.
• Scrubs tables and railings around pavilions.
• Removes sand from restrooms and showers at the pavilion and performs other related duties.
