Cameron County Park System seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform landscape duties, maintain park grounds, and assist in general maintenance tasks. The role includes cleaning facilities, handling materials, and supporting operations in outdoor park environments.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the capacity to work weekends. Valid Texas driver’s license may be required. The position is full-time and outdoors-focused.
PAY PLAN: 105 - $ 31,422.00 minimum salary
The overall purpose and general responsibility
Reports and correlates projects with Maintenance Supervisor,
Communicates with the public, park guests, concessionaires, office clerks and other co-workers.
The requirements necessary to fulfill the job expectations
A high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
Must have experience in custodianship and must enjoy working with the public.
Valid State of Texas Driver's License
Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to use power and hand tools, to perform strenuous work in the outdoor. Ability to communicate effectively, both in English and Spanish. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other employees.
Physical requirements may include lifting /carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, siting walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.

On special emergencies or occasional projects may require working in other county parks as assigned. Working conditions are primarily outdoors. Will be required to drive county owned vehicles and other equipment as needed. Weekend, Holiday, and evening work required.
This position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period prior to Civil Service eligibility; Must submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation.
