Job summary

Cameron County in Brownsville, TX seeks a Park Keeper (Part-Time) to perform light maintenance, landscaping, and cleaning of park facilities under supervision of the Community Parks Foreman.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the park, trash removal, restroom upkeep, maintenance of athletic fields and playgrounds, and weekend/evening shifts. Requires a High School Diploma, good people skills, and a valid Texas driver’s license. Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED recommended.
• Good people skills and cooperative working relationships with others.
• Enjoy working with the public and presenting a professional image.
• Able to work outdoors and be physically fit.
• Desirable: ability to speak English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Open and closing the park.
• Light landscaping duties such as watering areas, raking leaves, and tree trimming.
• Yard cleaning including trash removal and litter pickup.
• Building and restroom maintenance and cleaning.
• Upkeep of athletic fields and playground equipment.
• Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
• Sweep and wash sidewalks and parking areas as needed.
• Weekend, holiday and evening work required.
• Keep restrooms stocked with cleaners and toiletries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
