Job summary

Cameron County is seeking a Custodian Maintenance Worker to support park facilities. Under supervision, you will perform building custodianship duties outdoors, cleaning restrooms, sweeping sidewalks, and performing trash removal and general maintenance.

Requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, willingness to work weekends/holidays/evenings, and a valid Texas driver’s license. A high school diploma or GED is preferred and bilingual English/Spanish communication is expected.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate is preferred.
• Must have experience in custodianship and must enjoy working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Performs building and grounds maintenance including trash removal and litter pick-up in parking lots and pavilions.
• Performs daily cleaning of park restrooms.
• Sweeping and washing sidewalks and parking areas; removes sand from pavilions and walkways.
• Ensures restrooms are stocked with cleansers and toiletries.
• Maintains good housekeeping: cleans windows, wipes walls and counters, mops and waxes floors.
• Scrubs tables and railings around pavilions.
• Removes sand from restrooms and showers at the pavilion.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
