Job summary

Cameron County Park System seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform landscape duties, maintain park grounds, and assist in general maintenance tasks. The role includes cleaning facilities, handling materials, and supporting operations in outdoor park environments.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the capacity to work weekends. Valid Texas driver’s license may be required. The position is full-time and outdoors-focused.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience in custodianship and enjoyment working with the public.
• Valid State of Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape duties: mowing, weeding, edging, watering, trimming, and planting.
• Maintain grounds including trash removal and litter pickup in park areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms; sweep and wash surfaces.
• Load/unload materials; operate and maintain equipment.
• Assist with boardwalk and facility cleaning; report safety concerns.
