S&ME is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician for our Construction Services team in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC. This full-time role focuses on hands-on field and lab testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry with on-the-job training and opportunities to earn ACI/ICC certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn; certifications through ACI/ICC encouraged.
• Strong work ethic and team mindset.
• Attention to detail and English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
• Basic math skills including weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure.
• Willingness to travel and accept a fluctuating weekly schedule.
• Valid U.S. drivers license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle (truck/SUV).
• Background check, driving record check, and drug screen upon offer.

Responsibilities

• Begin with concrete sampling and testing, then expand to soils, asphalt, and masonry as you grow.
• Perform field and laboratory tests, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Conduct inspections per IBC codes and document findings in Metafield data system.
