Job summary

S&ME is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC. You will start outdoors, perform concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry testing, and learn on the job with paid training toward certifications.

You'll gain hands-on experience, be part of a safety-conscious environment, and contribute to quality and reporting across active construction sites, with occasional travel and overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn and pursue certifications (ACI/ICC)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team
• Good communication skills in English (reading/writing) and basic math fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Perform field and lab tests on concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry.
• Assist with sampling, testing, equipment maintenance, and data reporting.
• Support inspections per IBC codes and document findings
• Operate field equipment safely and manage data using company systems
• Travel to project sites as needed and work outdoors in varying conditions
