Job summary

Amrize is hiring a General Laborer to support operations at the Kirby Road Asphalt plant in Clinton, MD. The role involves housekeeping, material handling, and assisting with heavy equipment operations in a quarry setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, physical fitness to lift up to 50 pounds, and a strong commitment to safety. Training will cover plant equipment operation and environmental safety practices.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial or construction environment experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work (lift up to 50 lbs).
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant equipment operations.
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools.
• Team-oriented in a fast-paced, outdoor setting.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours during peak production.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties including manual material handling, shoveling rock, and assisting equipment operators.
• Assist with daily operation and maintenance of the asphalt production plant.
• Load, unload, and move raw materials, tools, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Keep the plant, yard, and work areas clean, organized, and debris-free.
• Perform general housekeeping around equipment and facilities.
• Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment.
